Call for Nominations, Board of Governors – 2019

Share SALT News

The Society of American Law Teachers (SALT) Nominations Committee is currently developing a slate of nominees to fill several openings on the SALT Board of Governors for three-year terms beginning January 1, 2019. Service on the Board of Governors gives members a close and active opportunity to shape and enforce the policy of SALT. The board is designed to fulfill SALT’s basic mission of “making the legal profession more inclusive and reflective of the great diversity of this nation; enhancing social justice training and quality legal education with cutting edge teaching methodologies; and advancing the use of the law to serve under-served persons and communities.”

We invite you to suggest names of current SALT members who may be interested in serving on the SALT Board.  SALT has some particular needs for board members skilled with technology and website development.

If you would like to nominate someone who is not a current SALT member, please ask them to join SALT prior to the nomination. You can click here to join or renew. To check the status of your membership, email info@saltlaw.org.  As a reminder, SALT general membership is open to anyone who:

(a) teaches law students for credit given by a law school;

(b) serves as a law school administrator or as a professional law librarian;

(c) is retired or on leave from such a position; or

(d) was previously a member of SALT.

To suggest names to the Nominations Committee, contact Nominations Committee Chair Anna Carpenter at anna-carpenter@utulsa.edu by April 6, 2018. The Nominations Committee will follow up to determine membership status, interest in serving, and the individual’s goals for their service on the SALT Board.

Nominees should be prepared to meet the minimum expectations for service, as outlined in this SALT Board MOU
